Review of the System of a Down Mezmerize
It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply isn’t a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.
Mezmerize has a pleasantly varied, mix of 11 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly outstanding musicians. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.
Listen to this CD and I believe you’ll find there's not much to dis-like about it. The songs are inspired, the production is simply outstanding, and this is clearly the work of a group of musicians in top form. So much so that if you're even mildly into Rock music you'll enjoy this CD.
While this entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 3 - Revenga, track 9 - Sad Statue, and track 10 - Old School Hollywood.
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 11 - Lost In Hollywood. It’s a great track!

You may possibly have inadvertently modified the Windows startup and shut down sounds.
Go to: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices.
Click on the sounds tab. You'll find both "Start Windows" and "Windows Logon" in the list. There are where you would change these.

Apparently the success of Paranormal Activity had a bigger impact on Paramount than we initially thought. The studio is launching a new division called Insurge Pictures that will be specifically focused on “micro-budget” movies (news on indieWIRE). The division has been given $1 million in funds to spread across 10 movies with $100,000 budgets each. This fresh new idea is said to be the creation of Amy Powell, the SVP of Interactive Marketing at Paramount. They’re also trying to build a community via the official website, which hasn’t yet launched. “We want to try something different and deconstruct the Hollywood system.” Read on! Insurge Pictures won’t be looking for films from film festivals, but rather looking for filmmaking teams to produce their own projects. “They hope the movies will serve as a low budget proving ground for new talent and intend to release the movies theatrically.” Part of the distribution process …
